VW AND AUDI BRAKE NOISE

Volkswagen and Audi brake noise explained

VW and Audi brake noise is NOT something to dismiss and put off until later.  It is your vehicle’s way of telling you that it needs attention.  The brake system on your Volkswagen and Audi is a huge part of what keeps you and your family safe on the road.  Address brake concerns before they become a safety issue !

Signs That You May Need Brakes

  • Your brake light comes on the dash (not always !)
  • Vibration when pressing on the brake pedal
  • High pitch squealing, screeching, or squeaking
  • Grinding or metallic noise (stopping or driving)
  • Slow response time when braking

It is possible that a brake caliper gets damaged if worn brakes are not replaced promptly.  Caliper replacement can get expensive and usually can be avoided if brakes are inspected and replaced when needed.  A quality brake job includes replacing brake pads and brake discs (also known as rotors).  This ensures proper mating of surfaces between the pads and discs and reduces vibration down the road.

Call Das Autohaus at 803-520-8523 and let us inspect your brakes.  Don’t assume that a brake light will show up on your dash.  Many times they don’t !
