VOLKSWAGEN AND AUDI EPC LIGHT
A Volkswagen or Audi EPC light is not something to ignore.
Nobody wants to hear it. That “DING” that lets you know something is illuminated on the dash of your Volkswagen or Audi. The warning may be a brake pad light, a traction control light or a Check Engine Light. But what does an EPC light mean and is it a BIG deal ?
EPC stands for Electronic Power Control. It is not as straight forward as a Check Engine Light, Oil Pressure light, Low Coolant or other warnings. An EPC light can illuminate for multiple systems including engine, brakes, fuel system, throttle system or even the battery. Sometimes a vehicle may lose power and go into “limp mode” to protect itself. For this reason, exercise caution while driving to a repair shop or have your vehicle towed to be safe.
In summary, you want to have your VW or Audi properly diagnosed by a mechanic that understands your vehicle. Remember, a light on the dash is NOT normal and should not be brushed off until later. It just may be a big deal !
