ADDING OIL TO YOUR VW AND AUDI

Adding oil to your VW and Audi can be needed for several reasons. Let Das Autohaus help determine the cause and remedy !

Adding oil to your VW and Audi.  It may seem like a simple task but it can create problems if not done correctly.  Your Volkswagen and Audi could have a low oil level for many reasons.  For instance:

  •  an oil leak
  • oil consumption (burning oil)
  • not enough added at last oil service

If you get an oil light on your dash, adding oil may turn the light off.  Now you need to find out WHY the light came on.  If your vehicle is consuming engine oil, you will not see anything on your garage floor or driveway.  That oil goes out of your exhaust and into the atmosphere.  Additionally, an oil leak may not show because of your car under shield cover.

Many people think that all VW and Audi vehicles burn a little oil.  Do not dismiss consuming oil as normal.  A bigger issue could be at hand that needs to be properly diagnosed.

In summary, know how to manually check your VW and Audi engine oil level.  If your vehicle does not have a dipstick, check your MMI for oil reading.  When adding oil, make sure that you add to the correct dipstick level and not too much.  Overfilling engine oil can cause internal engine problems that you do not want.
