VOLKSWAGEN SERVICE & MAINTENANCE

Are you following your VW Factory Maintenance Schedule ?  Failure to do so will cause issues over time and as we all know ….. it NEVER happens at a convenient time.

Manufacturers know what it takes to maintain their vehicles over time and your Owner’s Manual lists these items by mileage intervals.  For instance, engine and cabin air filters should be changed in a VW or Audi every 2 years or 20,000 miles.  The picture above shows that this does not always happen.  The result:  our Volkswagen client was driving around and ingesting mold, dirt and other contaminants that were SIX years old !  Think of how much pollen falls over the course of 6 years.  The cabin filter “grabbed” much of it but that debris was riding around in the vehicle and HVAC circulates that air within the cabin.  If you are someone that is sensitive to mold and mildew, this will not bode well for one’s health.

Other maintenance items include:

  • Spark plugs
  • Engine Air Filter
  • Oil and filter change (we recommend every 5k miles)
  • Transmission Service (automatic transmission or DSG)
  • Cleaning sunroof drains
  • Inspecting brakes for wear

THE BASICS MATTER!!  And WHO you allow to service and repair your VW or Audi matters.
